Danny McLaughlin: is the brillant francophone guitarist of the Bassalindos. A native of New Brunswick, Danny completed his musical studies at the University of Moncton in 1991 with highest honors. Acadian cousin to the Cajuns of Louisiana, Danny’s opuses echo a mastery of jazz and classical genres along with the flair of days as a Maritime rock star in the Acadian group
Ahimsa. A classically trained, award winning player, he is also an accomplished songwriter and has collaborated with several artists as composer and arranger. In studio or live, Danny is equally comfortable on the acoustic as
he is on the electric. He plays pop, jazz, folk to soulful blues and of course, good old-fashioned rock and roll. "Cool" Danny is the main songwriter for the
Bassalindos along with Christine. He collaborates with her on the creation of material for the band's albums and live shows. He also co-arranged and co-produced
Escapades. Danny's scope and range add great depth to group's musical dynamic. His
serene positivism and tranquil charisma are a perfect counterpoint to Christine's fiery
vividness. Christine and Danny are an inseparable creative team and enjoy heading out to the countryside where they are known to hide out, commune with nature and write their songs,
spinning their unique magic for us.
